Hank Tomlin is
a true blues virtuoso, with roots connecting to such artists as the
Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan and reaching as deep
as Robert Johnson for inspiration. Hank has performed on the same bill
with many of the greats (including Albert King, Hank Williams, Jr.,
Johnny Paycheck, Jerry Riopelle, Jerry Lee Lewis and Dave Mason).
In 2000, Hank was inducted into the Arizona Blues Hall
of Fame.
In September (1999), Hank finally released his
own CD, featuring the talents of other prominent Flagstaff, AZ locals
as well. The CD is called "Arms Around My Rose" and,
in addition to Hank's great guitar work and vocals, this recording
includes:
John Willis (formerly
of Limbs Akimbo -- now works for Fender) -- Bass and background vocals
Ron James (Limbs Akimbo) -- Drums and background vocals
Dale Caddell (Limbs Akimbo) -- Rhythm Guitar
Tom McMillian -- Hammond Organ
All songs on the CD were written by Hank Tomlin,
with L. Garrett sharing co-author credits on "Their Loss is Our
Gain" and "Rose."
Hank is currently living in the Mesa, Arizona area
and playing with Hank Tomlin and the Tom Cats.
More information is available at Hank's
