Dear America -- WAKE THE FUCK UP!

by George Ziemann -- July 16, 2010

A friend of mine sent me an e-mail yesterday of an opinion piece from what appears to be a Fox News commentator. It provides a stunningly accurate picture of everything that's wrong with this country right now. Or maybe "example" is the right word. Whether you're Republican or Democrat, this deserves a read.

In case you haven't figured out what's happening, here's a wrap-up of the program:

WAYNE ALLYN ROOT: Overwhelm the system

Barrack Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University. They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming. Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government.

Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

  • -- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government.

Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?
  • -- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants.

They will kick back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."
  • Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state? Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression? Certainly not American taxpayers.

But this has been Obama's plan all along. His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.
  • Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.
  • Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America . The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.
  • Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.

With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my Columbia University college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.

My Response (Slightly Edited)

You're probably going to hate me for this, but I'm on this honesty binge right now and I can't help it.

First of all, although I voted for Obama, I not an unquestioning fan. He was just a better choice than the suddenly deranged McCain. Obama filled the Dept of Justice with RIAA lawyers and now the FBI is wasting its fucking time chasing downloading college kids instead of real criminals. There's something seriously wrong with many of his choices.

That said, this kind of shit really pisses me off. There's something that the conservatives overlook -- every single one of them -- and is completely missing from this rant as well.

The systemic failure of the U.S. economy, the economic crisis and the social chaos that is simmering are all due to the cost of war. The fingers should be pointed at Bush and Cheney. They are the responsible parties. When the Republicans took over the White House in January 2001, there was a surplus. When they left, we were in deep shit. This ain't Obama's fault,

How many billions were wasted on Shock and Awe? Cruise missiles don't come cheap. We invaded Iraq on the basis of bullshit and lies. More billions. Now we've got about 100,000 soldiers traipsing through Afghanistan chasing one guy, when the CIA could probably take care of this just fine on their own. Talk about ending the war, and you'll get denounced as a gutless, far-left liberal communist/Marxist/socialist/Nazi, but that's what's sucking all of our money away.

How about we look at it from a capitalist point of view?

I've heard that it costs a million dollars to keep one soldier in Afghanistan or Iraq for a year. I've also heard that universal health care would cost about $150 million a year at the outset.

Bring 150 guys home. Problem solved.

I'm suddenly in a definite low income bracket. If I lose my health insurance, I'm fucked. And I can tell you story after story of famous musicians who died of easily curable ailments that were left untreated because they couldn't afford health insurance.

I WANT universal health care. Every argument against it because you think it's "socialist" is based on ignorance. If you know the truth and still want to let poor people die on the fucking streets because they caught the flu, you're morally bankrupt.

I know nothing about"cap-and-trade," so I don't even have an opinion. But I certainly can't base one on what is offered here because the rest of the issues raised in this e-mail all suffer from the same one-sided, partisan approach. The truth is hard to find in there because it is so deeply obscured to make it all fulfill the argument.

And it's not even political. It's about greed. And who's got the money? Those who profit from war. Who are the ones so concerned that poor people might be able to survive when there are no jobs to be had? The rich fuckers.

Where did the bailout money really go? To the rich people and their stockbrokers. The rich people who got it may have used some of it in ways that helped ordinary people, but it was caculated to improve for the corporations' own economic gain in the long run. And how much of that AIG money went to parties and bonuses?

$135 billion went to teachers???? Bullshit. My wife is a teacher. She didn't get jack.

The Mexicans are trying to get away from a country whose economy is going to hell, is overrun with crime and corruption (both of which are directly attributable to the butt-stupid "War on Drugs That Grow In The Desert," which has only served to create a huge criminal income stream), and are walking across the same desert they used for Star Wars and Dune to find a better life. Does the Statue of Liberty's sign that starts with "Give me your tired and poor" have a line at the end that says, "Except for the fucking Mexicans"? Doesn't America actually NEED people so dedicated to finding a better life that they would walk across the desert to get there, willing to die trying? What jobs are they taking from us? Are we all suddenly unemployed because we can't find jobs climbing palm trees with a chainsaw hanging from our belt?

If a Cuban makes it to dry land, they're home free. A Mexican can make it to Wisconsin and they'll still drag his ass back. If Mexico (or Puerto Rico) suddenly became a Communist state, the conservatives would change their tune in a heartbeat. As a result, most of the arguments are bullshit.

All of the exmples presented in the original message are inflamatory rhetoric. Whoever originally wrote it was not interested in solving any problems, just making the other side out to be responsible. You've got to ignore a lot of facts to agree with any of this.

Don't get me wrong. I don't believe CNN or the Democrats, either. They've got the exact same problem, just coming from the opposite direction. Neither side wants to do anything but avoid blame. No one has answers, just excuses and finger-pointing.

Just look at New Orleans. They still haven't repaired the damage from Katrina and now they've got the oil spill. Unemployment is already high and now everything seafood-related is tanking -- from fishermen and dock workers, packing and delivery, to the restaurants themselves. And no one is DOING a damn thing.

Roosevelt had a work program during the depression (WPA?). Not welfare, but employment. Last I saw, the city of Toledo still has cobblestone streets that were created during that period. Eisenhower followed up by building the interstate highway system. Arizona can't even afford to pay anyone to keep the rest areas open.

What are we doing to solve this financial crisis? Not a damned thing. Quibbling over bullshit. New Orleans is at the top of my list because I was just there, but Toledo, Detroit, Flint MI, Chicago, New Jersey, and pretty much every major city (and state) that used to be industrial before SOMEONE let all the jobs go overseas, could stand some urban renewal. A few million people could be put to work tomorrow to start tearing the old shit down. Work, not welfare.

How are we going to pay for it? By bringing home the military, which is NOT currently defending our country and is wasting time, money and human lives trying to force the indigenous population of where they are to be something that they don't want to be. Oh yeah, and they're protecting Iraq's oil. I guess that's why gas prices are so low now.

Since they do have to power to call an end to all of this, until they demand a solution instead allowing the childish, kindergarten-level "He did it!" debate to take the place of real problem-solving, the rich people are just going to have to pay more taxes. I've met a few people in the top 5% (not 20%, as Fox News would have you believe). They can afford higher taxes.

You're not one of them. What's your excuse?
